Reverse engineering AoS Pt4 – S

admin

Strength is a direct copy for WFB over to Warhammer Quest, but as Strength isn’t an actual statistic in Age of Sigmar we need to do some reworking of things from the data we do have. All of the attack profiles have a Wound score that is a simplified version of the Strength Vs Toughness. A look through loads of examples, it seems that a lot of the values directly map to the Toughness 4 row.

Most of the examples (and loads more I didn’t write down) match up with the assumption that the opponent is T4 as a baseline. Ghouls we already know have changed a lot anyway from the previous steps and the big demons seem to have changed a lot too. The main thing we need to consider is that AoS includes multiple weapon profiles, each of which have different strength attacks so when converting it is best to choose the profile that makes most sense as the baseline. This would typically be sword/dagger/claws… something basic that isn’t going to have armour piercing capabilities. It does introduce some interesting opportunities for special skills/effects for some of the attacks, much like the Vomit attack on the Trolls..

Conclusion

Much like everything else so far, there’s some guess work/validation that needs to happen, but for most things this will hopefully be a straight forward
